STEPS OF UMRAH BY SEQUENCE (CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER)

Ø  Enter Ihram

Ø  Tawaf

STEP 01: Enter Ihram

HOW TO ENTER IHRAM

·         Make the intention (niyyah) for Umrah

·         Recite the talbiyah.

·         Men: Wear the ihram garments

WHAT TO DO IN IHRAM

·         Avoid acts that are forbidden while in the state of ihram

·         Increase in worship and good deeds

·         Avoid using perfume or scented products

·         Do not cut nails or hair

TALBIYAH (DUA)

‎لَبَّيْكَ اللّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ

‎لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ

‎إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةُ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ

‎لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ

STEP 02: Tawaf (Circumambulation)

HOW TO PERFORM TAWAF

·         Start at the Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad), facing it.

·         Make the intention (niyyah) for Tawaf.

·         Begin circling the Kaaba counterclockwise (7 times).

·         Men should do raml (brisk walk) in the first 3 rounds.

·         End each round at the Black Stone (or line in alignment).

·         After 7 rounds, proceed to pray 2 rakats behind Magam Ibrahim.

WHAT TO RECITE

اللّهُمَّ إِيمَانَا بِكَ وَتَصْدِيقًا بِكِتابِكَ، وَوَفاءً بِعَهْدِكَ، وَاتّبَاعًا لِسُنَّةِ نَبِيَّكَ محَمَّدٍ

·         Remain calm and avoid pushing others.

·         Avoid loud talking or distractions.

·         Show humility and focus in your dua.

·         Stay in a state of wudu (ablution).

·         Avoid photographing or filming.

STEP 03: Pray at Maqam Ibrahim

HOW TO PERFORM THIS STEP

·         After completing Tawat, move behind

·         Maqam Ibrahim.

·         Pray 2 rakats facing the Maqam. v Recite Surah Al-Fatiha and another surah in each rakah.

·         It's recommended to recite Surah Al-Kafirun and Surah Al-Ikhlas.

·         If crowded, you may pray anywhere in the Haram facing the Kaaba.

WHAT TO RECITE

‎وَاتَّخِذُوا مِن مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلِّى

And take the station of Abraham as a place of prayer. (Quran 2:125)

ETIQUETTE & TIPS

·         Remain in a state of wudu.

·         Be mindful not to block pathways.

·         Stand calmly and face the Qibla.

·         Avoid loud conversations or distractions.

STEP 04: Drink Zamzam Water

HOW TO PERFORM THIS STEP

·         After praying behind Magam Ibrahim, proceed to the Zamzam water area.

·         Stand facing the Qibla and say

·         'Bismillah'.

·         Drink the water in three sips, while sitting if possible.

·         Make a personal dua while drinking.

RECOMMENDED DUA

‎اللّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا وَاسِعًا،

‎وَشِفَاءَ مِنْ كُلِّ دَاءٍ

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, abundant provision, and healing from every Illness.

ETIQUETTE & SUNNAH

·         Drink while facing the Qibla.

·         Sit down while drinking, as it is sunnah.

·         Drink with the intention of healing and blessings.

·         Avoid wasting water.

Step 5: Sa'i

HOW TO PERFORM SA'I

1. Begin at Safa.

2. Walk to Marwah while reciting the appropriate duas.

3. Turn back towards Safa, repeat the dua, and continue walking.

4. Continue the cycle seven times.

‎اللهم إني أسالك برحمتك ومغفرتك

O Allah. I ask You for Your mercv and forgiveness.

اللهم قويني على إتمام هذه المناسك

O Allah, grant me the strength to complete this ritual.

TIPS

·         Wear comfortable shoes for walking.

·         Stay hydrated during the process.

·         Take your time to make supplications at each point.

·         Be mindful of the crowd and maintain your focus.

Step 6: Hair Cutting

HOW TO PERFORM HAIR CUTTING

1. After completing Tawaf and Sa'i, proceed to the hair cutting area.

2. If you're a male, shave your head or v trim your hair. If you're female, cut a small portion of your hair.

3. Ensure the hair is cut evenly and appropriately.

4. You can either do this by yourself or get assistance from a barber.

TIPS

·         Make sure to use clean tools when cutting hair.

Step 7: Exit Ihram

HOW TO EXIT IHRAM

1. After completing the rituals of Umrah, it is time to exit Ihram.

2. For men, shave or trim your head v hair. For women, cut a small portion of your hair.

3. Remove your Ihram clothing and wear normal clothes.

4. You are now permitted to resume normal activities, such as wearing regular clothes and using fragrance.
