Description
The 8th of
Dhul-Hijjah marks the beginning of the Hajj pilgrimage.
Pilgrims enter
into the state of Ihram.
Travel to Mina and
spend the night there.
What to Do
·
Take
a bath (ghusl) and wear
·
Ihram
garments.
·
Make
your niyyah (intention) for Hajj: "Labbayka Hajjan".
·
Recite
the Talbiyah frequently.
·
Travel
to Mina before Dhuhr.
·
Pray
Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha in Mina (shortened, not combined).
·
Spend
the night in Mina in worship.
Du'a
لَبَّيْكَ اللّهُمَّ
لَبَّيْكَ، لَبَّيْكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَك لَبَّيْكَ
Translation: Here
1 am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, you have no partner, here I am.
9th Dhul-Hijjah
Day of Arafah
Description
·
The
Day of Arafah is the pinnacle of Hajj.
·
Pilgrims
travel from Mina to the plain of Arafah.
·
This
day is centered on standing (Wuquf) at Arafah in deep supplication and
reflection.
What to Do
·
Leave
Mina after Fajr and proceed to Arafah.
·
Stay
in Arafah from noon to sunset (Wuquf).
·
Perform
Dhuhr and Asr prayers together at Arafah (jam' and qasr).
·
Spend
the day in prayer, Du'a, and seeking forgiveness.
·
Recite
Talbiyah often and make sincere supplication.
·
After
sunset, proceed directly to Muzdalifah without nraving Manhrih in Arafah
Days of 11th-13th
Dhul-Hijjah
Tashreeq
Description
·
These
are the days of remembrance (Ayyam al-Tashreed), spent mostly in Mina.
·
Pilgrims
perform Rami (stoning) at all three
·
Jamarat
pillars each day.
·
You
may leave on the 12th before sunset (early departure), or stay till the 13th
(recommended).
What to Do
·
Stay
in Mina for the night.
·
Each
day after Dhuhr, perform Rami at *three* Jamarat: al-Sughra, al-Wusta, and
al-Aqabah.
·
Throw
7 pebbles at each pillar (21 total per day), saying *'Allahu Akbar'* with each
throw.
·
Spend
your time in reflection, prayer, reciting Takbir and Qur'an.
·
On
the 12th, you may leave Mina before sunset if you're done (this is called Nafr
al-Awwal).
·
If
you stay until the 13th, repeat Rami again on the final day (recommended for
those able).
Du'a
اللهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللهُ
أَكْبَرُ، لاَ إِنَهَ إِلَّ اللهُ، وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ، الله
أَكْبَرُ، وَلِلّهِ
الْحَمْدُ
Translation: Allah
is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. There is no deity except Allah. Allah
is the Greatest, and to Allah belongs all praise.
Tips
·
Use
the pedestrian shaded paths and escalators when available.
·
Take
rest and avoid peak hours at Jamarat to reduce crowd stress.
·
Prepare
pebbles the night before each day to avoid rushing.
·
Stay
hydrated and nourished - these are still long walking days.
·
Reflect
on the spiritual purpose behind

Rami
and remain patient.

Farewell Tawaf
Tawaf al-Wida (The
Goodbye Tawaf)
Description
Tawaf al-Wida is
the last ritual of Hajj, performed before leaving Makkah.
It is an act of
devotion and a symbolic farewell to the Holy Kaaba.
No other
activities (like shopping or staying) should be done in Makkah after performing
it.
What to Do
·
Ensure
you are ready to leave Makkah before performing Tawaf al-Wida.
·
Make
seven circuits (Tawaf) around the Kaaba in a state of purity (wudu).
·
There
is *no Sa'i* or shaving/trimming
·
Offer
two rak'ahs of prayer behind Maqam
·
Ibrahim
(if possible).
·
Make
heartfelt Du'a, asking Allah to accept your Hajj.
·
After
completion, leave Makkah directly - do not delay unnecessarily.
Du'a
اللهم اجعل حجي مبرورًا
وذنبي مغفورًا
وسعيي مشكورًا
Translation: O
Allah, make my Hajj accepted, my sins forgiven, and my efforts appreciated.
Tips
·
Do
your shopping and packing *before* Tawaf al-Wida.
·
Choose
a non-peak time (late night or early morning) to avoid crowds.
·
Try
to walk calmly and stay focused in your
·
Du'a
during the Tawaf.
·
If
you're with a group, coordinate departure after everyone completes Tawaf.
Ihram
Description
Ihram is a sacred
state that all pilgrims must enter at the beginning of Hajj. It symbolizes
purity, equality, and devotion to Allah.
Steps
·
Clean
yourself (ghusl) and wear the Ihram garments.
